Festive season temptations!

Christmas is an exciting time of year, but it also comes with a lot of temptation! Sweet food, alcohol, over indulging and missed workouts!
So how can we enjoy this time of year without losing track of our healthy choices?
Moderation, thoughtful consideration and good choices are the key to success.
If you have recently completed the 84 day body challenge or are still in the 30 day upgrade, it’s so important to continue your good work. Now, we are not suggesting that you eat and train 100%, but having set yourself up with this great foundation, it would be disappointing to end up back at square one…

Try to get your training in early, that way you are set for the day and have given yourself that great energy boost to go on and make good choices. If you can’t make it to the gym, try a glorious early morning walk, have fun in the park with the kids, get out on your bike, try out a session at Bounce (Tash & Christine’s favourite), jog in the water at the beach! There are so many options, just use some creative thinking and plan some exercise into each day!

Staying hydrated is always important, but ensuring you have enough water in your system will help your brain to analyse if that sugary treat is really necessary or if you can skip it or choose a healthier option.

If you are drinking alcohol, make sure you have something to eat first! Alcohol can often lead to less wise choices with food, plus the food will help slow down the absorption of the alcohol. Always good to remember there are also lots of great non alcoholic options available!

Are you thinking “well, surely I can just take a break from healthy options and start again in the new year!?”

Health and wellness MUST be part of our lives every day for the rest of our lives. It’s not only for when we get to a point where we are unhappy with our health and regret unhealthy choices. Make it your lifestyle and enjoy the benefits!
